Speaking about hobbies, I used to do a lot of 3D printing. However, I got sick of maintaining a 3D printer (the resin ones are really difficult to clean and the filament ones... well... I'd modded mine a lot to make calibration easier and it was still a pain in the neck).
The company I bought some of the calibration tools from was run by this dude who was always really obtuse when providing support. Can't quite nail it but he would answer questions by repeating your question back at you. For example Question: 'why is [component of tool] not working?' Answer: 'well duh... your tool is not working because [component] is not... idiot!' I'd then give up on asking and work it out myself, often using far superior, more reliable methods to what he'd detailed on his website.
Anyhow he also offered a 3D printing service which I used a few times as he has $$$ 3D printers that can simplify the manufacturing of some parts (not worth making at home). He was always very proud about his gear being 'made in America' as if this made it superior quality. Quietly... I moved away from him because (TBH) the Chinese 'copies' of his calibration kits (I dare say originals as he used generic, Chinese made [and designed in many cases] parts that are widely available & better documented if you buy the Chinese stuff) were superior. Also, I could get better tech support from some dude working outta the Shenzhen markets as their broken English made more sense than his native English. Also they tended to know what they were talking about if I asked more complex questions.
Moving on... I haven't used this guy for about 2-3 years or received any e-mails from him. Yesterday he decided to send ALL of his previous customers a full MAGA style warning about the 'perils of overseas outsourcing' and how tariffs wouldn't apply to his services. It was quite hilarious just how cooked/political his e-mail was as I'm sure I'm not the only customer from outside 'Murrica.
I politely thanked him for his political messaging and noted I'm an Australian who will be cautious about the perils of outsourcing products from 'Murrica in the future. Won't post it but I just got his 10 page response and he's fuuuuming about how Australia deserves tariffs and shyte. I laughed so frigging loud when I read it

I think Pauline will be happy with that!
