The Republicans are no longer a right wing party imo. They have become the moderates. Here in Australia though we still have the same old dullards peddling their tired lies. I can’t bring myself to trust Dutton after his stint in government under Abbott and Turnbull. I just don’t think we need a change at this point in time. But the government does need to tighten up immigration as the current levels are unsustainable.

From what I’ve read, admittedly it could be wrong, immigration levels have boomed since Covid under Albo. The number of foreign students especially. Now I’m all for immigration and always have been but I wonder if the levels in recent years are too high as I think there’s a case for suggesting a link between it and housing shortages. I’m thinking about my young adult kids and how they’re unlikely to get into the housing market until they’re nearly 50. Also, foreign investment in real estate would have an impact on this too. If they’re going to keep immigration at these levels they need to build more homes and infrastructure faster.
