I recently fixed two 70's amplifiers and some truckin' good (massive) speaker if anybody's interested. Both are handmade Japanese amps (a Rotel and a Sony). Fully recapped and cleaned (by yours truely, using proper Japanese caps) and tested.

Not something I'm looking to branch out into but it's a neat little hobby that tied in with restoring retro gaming gear as it's the same concept of debugging circuit boards (which are relatively simple compared with today's micro-electronics... think breadboard with no microprocessors and all the wires being soldered by hand in a Japanese factory).

On top of this I've restored a Japanese MD deck if anybody remembers MDs. Quirky tech but I have a box full of new old stock MDs and have been copying a heap of jazz/blues CDs over to them.

Having just done a solid Boston Marathon qualifier at the Canberra Marathon (difficult to summarise the amount of work that went into that and all the little moments along the way) I now have ~5 weeks of reduced training. Gonna enjoy these side hobbies while I've got the time (promise these's more but I'd need to punch out a PhD thesis in order to cover them all).
