Thought being a Tuesday and Melbourne Cup day there would be less traffic on the road but M1 is like a Sunday afternoon. F*ck Sydney and Central Coast traffic.

It was fantastic Horrie. It started off well with a lot of Wings songs and some lesser known Beatles but then got better and better as the concert went on. Just before the encore there were about 6 brilliant songs in a row - Jet, Band On The Run, Get Back, Let It Be, Live and Let Die and Hey Jude. Then he left the stage before the encore and another 6 or so songs. He was on stage for 3 hours. Not bad for an old boy! His voice has definitely gone in parts where he can’t hit those high notes anymore which you have to expect for an 81 year old, but it didn’t matter as the back up band was awesome and we all just sang along with him anyway.Originally posted by horrie hastings View Post
Been waiting to hear how Sir Paul was MR but as we know this site has been down. Everyone that i know who went to the various concerts he done have had excellent reports back.

Well I finally get a chance to reply to you Jack. We did a bit of walking around George St and the city when we arrived after check in, before taking the light rail into Moore Park. The light rail worked really well. I was impressed. We drove home straight after check out the next day as the other half hates driving in Sydney. But we spent about $30 on road tolls to make it easier lol! As I said to Horrie in my first post above, the concert was awesome.Originally posted by Jacks Fur Coat View Post
Should be fantastic MR. Some of my relos went to the Newie gig and were blown away by the band and how well PMac is still going. Are you making a weekend of it or just hit and run?

That's great MR , i haven't heard anyone who didn't have a good time or enjoyed his performances here in Australia, everyone have been seeing how good he was. Interested to hear whether he played Uncle Albert, that is one of my favourite songs.Originally posted by mightyrooster View Post

It’s one of my favourites of his too but sadly, no he didn’t play it. He also did a virtual duet with John on accompanying video and also a great version of Something for George. He finished up with the final 3 tracks of Abbey Road.Originally posted by horrie hastings View Post

Beautiful morning up on the mountain in Dorrigo, a bit cloudy and crisp, will be perfect for a bush walk after breakfast.will take a walk to Crystal Showers fall. Driving up from Bellingen to Dorrigo the usually mighty Newell falls was just a tiny trickle, was actually upsetting to see this usually mighty waterfall reduced to a tiny trickle, hopefully Crystal Showers will be better as they have had rain higher up here and all the paddocks are green , will be a nice walk through the rain forest either way.

Im looking at Green Island right now, The host of the B&B at the lighthouse has a boat and he fishes out wide for Dolphin Fish, Blue Eye Trevalla, Spanish Mackerel and Pearl Perch to name a few. Weather a bit inclement to take a boat out today but our host fished the beach yesterday and caught three whiting so that is our dinner tonight.Originally posted by rented tracksuit View Post

Sounds amazing Horrie. I've never heard of Smoky Cape Lighthouse but I gather it's near South West Rocks? I have family who absolutely rave about that area.Originally posted by horrie hastings View Post
