Was a great show MR, his voice was still in great nick, could actually understand some of the lyrics a lot clearer than when back in Aus Crawl days. Absolutely loved when he sung Hammerhead, there wasn't a bad bit in the show at all.

Noticed Tim Finn is performing at the State Theatre next month, are you going ?

I saw that pop up in my facebook feed a little while ago. No I won’t be going as I don’t think we can get away for another trip to Sydney. But if Split Enz ever did another reunion tour, I’d be there in a heartbeat. Also I can’t believe it’s been over 40 years since Tim’s first solo album was released.

I pulled out the storage box where my vinyl is stored the other day looking for some 12 inch singles to take to a vinyl night at a nearby brewery and i found i still have Escapade, hard to believe that was 40 years ago.

        • The Finn brothers, IMHO, are 2 of the greatest songwriters in the history of popular music.

100% agree Red. I became an Enz fan when I was 13 years old and still love the Finn bros to this day. I have seen them in concert a few times as a duo plus Split Enz plus Crowdies multiple times. I’m a huge fan. It’s also hard to believe Tim is now 73! Where has the time gone.

Spot on there Red, besides the Finn Brothers i reckon Barry Gibb. Jeff Lynne, Benny and Bjorn, Dolly Parton and Prince have been stand outs in song writing in my life time.

              • One of the very last time Jeff Lynne will be heading any big stadiums. Not the best quality but it is the full set from his Birmingham concert a few days ago, Jeff seems rather subdued without his trade mark guitar in hand because of a broken hand but still what a legend and i had a tear in my eye watching some of the footage knowing i will never get the chance to see him perform live.

I always get them mixed up Neil I think the guy from Crowded House is very highly respected among quite a few modern day musos I know myself

                    Here is one from Tim

So many great Enz songs but this is my favourite. It’s also the one which got me interested in the band as a young teen. I was also a member of the Frenz of the Enz fan club for several years. Such great memories.
