  • This one came up on my shuffle on Friday. This whole album of country covers of Elton & Bernie's is probably one of the more credible tribute albums I have in my collection. This is Lee Ann Womack with Honky Cat.

    • I want to bash some drums like Kate in her cover versions tour, Australian Made. God bless her..paying tribute to those who are no longer with us. I had said to my sisters that there was hardly anyone left from the press conference to promote the original tour. Greedy Smith, James Freud, Chrissy and Michael all gone..

I watch this quite often from Spicks and Specks. One of the better seasons I thought this year.

A very young Olivia and Ian Turpie , Ian was in love with Olivia at one stage.

Olivia did a movie in the UK in 1970 called Toomorrow, i have a copy of it and also the soundtrack, an interesting time capsule much like Funny Things Happen Down Under.

I bought her updared memoir last year and took my time reading it. Then I found the cookbook not long ago. Thanks for the link to the other movie and I'll add it to my list.

I like Olivia's version of this better than the original, which I have too.

I watched that on Youtube yesterday and found the whole album it came from, Once Upon a Time in California. Belinda Carlisle also covered Superstar but no-one can sing it like Colleen Hewett.

I have listened to snippets of some of the Belinda Carlisle covers on the new album but it hasn't quite grabbed me yet over all, will give it a listen in full sometime soon.

Colleen's version of Superstar back in 1971 was so raw, her vocals were perfect and i found it so much better than the Carpenters version ( which is still a good version ).

Colleen appeared on Rockwiz a while back and reprised Superstar, i love the smokiness in Colleen's voice in this version.

I listened to just a few of the snippets on itunes yesterday and whilst it is a lovely production, it didn't make me want to add it to my wishlist either. Colleen's music has stood the test of time and still holds up well.

I note Belinda did a version of The Air That I Breathe but this one of KD Lang's is the best. I've had the Drag album for years and never get tired of it.
