Yeah I try. Not very successfully though. I actually liked KS too even though he was occasionally condescending to me. I think he copped way too much flak on here and I know his ultimate banning was due to his own massive meltdown. But really he copped a lot for a long time without any suspensions or bannings. He eventually cracked. I would say that played some considerable part in why a great long term poster like JFC is no longer posting here. Now I don’t want to go over old ground again and as Andy has already said the Chookpen is now what it is because of the dramas of the past 12 months. We have to live with it.

He’s referring to the posters he has on his ignore list who he claims are all the same poster - JFC, AW, Paddo, Voods of multiple names, myself and ACM. It’s the same argument he’s been pushing for 12 months now. These posters are all different and unique personalities and it’s just stupid. Sorry, it’s stupid as is all the petty crap that keeps going on here. Can we just all build a bridge and move forward.

Yes very strange. I’m as anti Trump as you can get too and was usually on ism’s side of the debate against Paddo in those China and Ukraine threads, but because I agreed with you or Jack on some different issues apparently I was worthy of being lumped in with old mate and stuck on ignore. I really don’t get it. And Paddo, the one I debated against in those threads was actually more the gentleman to me. He got that it was a debate, and not personal.

Yes it worked both ways. But Paddo would drive me insane with his constant repetitive circular arguments in our debates, but we never resorted to nasty insults - except when he accused me of drinking too much kool aid and the like lol. We knew it wasn’t personal. This is what I mean by tolerance.

Agreed. Noting, they’ve called me out a few times and it’s always been fair game (e.g. when I’ve clearly been at the limoncello and needed a rest).

I’m not against political chat, but when it turns into non-stop “MAGA MAGA MAGA”, “Vlad is actually the good guy — listen to Dan Andrews, Paul Keating, Bob Carr and John Menadue” or “vote no to the voice of division” it stops being a discussion and starts being doctrine-spamming.

Two-way discourse is healthy; endless soapboxing is not. I can only engage with it so much before I require a stiff drink and we all know where that cycle leads us
