Trying my hand at this 'Streaming' thing

Hi all!

Anyone who knows me personally would know I have a colourful history with the video games industry. With that in mind, I've been doing some streaming in the last six weeks to get a feel for it and I'll be trying to continue to stream frequently on both Twitch and YouTube. If you catch me there, feel free to say hi.

I'd like to use the platform to engage with the community here and discuss the NRL + Roosters a bit more. At least on a more personal / interactive level.

Ha....I'm sure you will pique some interest on here Chris. I'm not that conversant with streaming and using different platforms etc. When I run into tech trouble, I ring my ISP help desk the first thing they ask me to do is open windows. And it gets too bloody cold in winter.

My life is a bit up in the air at the moment. I spend a lot of time with my family for a number of reasons, but also want to try find ways to engage more with people here and always be an easy way for people to reach me if they need anything. There is a loose plan to overhaul TheChookpen at some point, but there are pros and cons to the choices made surrounding how that overhaul goes. The Chookpen has existed like this for over a decade now and it needs a refresh. Anyway, I'm getting sidetracked; the point is I am hopeful streaming and being 'live' might mean I can interact more and have meaningful engagements with more members here.

Hmmm. Are you thinking of ditching The Chookpen in favour of some live stream where people can interact in that way ?

Whilst some sort of overhaul to the site may be in your plans. Personally I like The Chookpen the way it is I can sit with family even work and engage on here at the same time A live stream type thing would take that away

Absolutely not. When I say TheChookpen needs an overhaul, I mean the forum itself. The forum will always exist - I'm only talking about ways for me to engage in real time with the members here. This forum will always exist, but it's in dire need of an upgrade - something I've been trying to work out for a while.

This is fair enough, my line of thinking is that I will go live after each Roosters game to talk about the game and interact in real time with other people. We'll see how it goes.

That would make an interesting upgrade to the site. No harm in giving it a go I say.

The major overhaul I'd like to see is that the glitch?, that forces me to click on a link more than once to navigate somewhere, gets fixed sooner rather than later.

Do you have a streaming schedule? I'll be keen to check it out when you're live, what games are you streaming/planning to stream? or are you more of the hottub streamer

Legs feel broken after a midnight VO2 max session running around the lake. However, I promise they'll be 'right after a good sleep.
