craig salvatori would be thrilled with this comment. not to mention that surrendering when you've got a shit leader and are allied to nazis seems sensible to me.

it was albo's dad who was italian, but the point still stands.
my favourite home cooked meal is pasta and pesto. simple but never boring

Our Father then fought against the Japanese in PNG, Borneo and Burma and they were not the surrendering type. - He had a Japanese sword I recall and kept it all those years until when he went to Japan as part of an RSL commemorative event and was able to hand it over to the relatives of the Japanese Army Officer who it belonged too - Even had a German Paratroopers fold up bicycle he brought back to Australia.

Commandeered a Ducati Motor Bike as well from a captured Italian POW but a British Officer took it off him - be hard to get it back to Australia though.

Oh, my bad—didn’t realize we were playing charades. Next time, try using words that actually mean what you meant.

Starting at the top—Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. Son of an Italian single mother who raised him in public housing, Albo’s story is one of resilience, hard work, and belief in the Aussie fair go. He’s never forgotten where he came from, and that grit and humility are straight from his Italian roots.

In rugby league, the Italian-Australian impact is legendary. James Tedesco and Anthony Minichiello—two icons of the game—both starred for the Roosters, NSW, and the Kangaroos, and both proudly represented Italy on the international stage. Tough, talented, and humble—they represent the best of what we bring to the sport.

And let’s talk about Mark Nawaqanitawase—Fijian-Italian and one of the most exciting young players in rugby league right now. Fast, fearless, and unpredictable, he’s a glimpse of where the game’s heading—and we’re right there in the mix.

Whether it’s politics, sport, culture, or community—Italian Australians continue to lead, inspire, and contribute in ways big and small. We’ve come a long way from being called “New Australians”—now we’re just essential Australians.

          Forza!
You know I was just winding you up about the BBQ and Tomato sauce. Worcesterchire could potentially work better

Good thread to celebrate Mark N's try. Might as well give him some ballet shoes (another fine Italian invention).
