Yeah I’ve been keeping up with the score. I’m glad I didn’t pay Amazon to watch the game given it’s going to be over in less than 3 days. From reports I’ve read some are saying the pitch has too much in it while others have said it’s the batters’ poor techniques to very good bowling. I also saw we were 7 for 76 at one stage but finished 8 for 144 at stumps. Those extra runs will hopefully come in very handy.

      • yeah, pat cummins is sounding confident but in these low scoring matches it only takes one good partnership to turn a game on its head. hopefully we can put another 20 or 30 on. wasn't looking too flash at 7-73.
south africans have a history of folding in finals.

You should have started a fresh thread on that plus ask what would you do if you won 100 million.

Aussies are lucky as lotto winnings are not taxed - Games of chance - only pay tax on any interest from any investments of these winnings.

As an example a person in Florida won 10.5 million USD recently - You can take it as payment over a period of time or a lump sum in the US

They chose the lump sum and was paid $5,946,154.67 - Paid $ 4,553,845.33 in taxes - federal/state/local

Would have been an embarrassing loss losing to the west indies after they beat us in Brisbane, feel sorry for Shamar Joseph, absolute superstar with the ball, and a handy bat too. Hope he sticks with test cricket and the team pay him a lot to not switch to 20/20

Australia have plenty of issues with their top order, lucky the ashes is in Oz this year, that should give them the advantage, if it was in England, I think they’d struggle.

                    • well done to the boys in retaining the worrell trophy. we've had it for a while now. i remember when mark taylor's team won it in the west indies all those years ago after a period of dominance by the windies.

top order batting looks a bit shaky. not sure that will change with a pink ball test coming up

                      • It was a great effort by the team. As much as the media and fans go on about the top order, the wickets weren’t easy for batting.

Our top order has been carried by our bowlers at both ends for quite some time now

True. Konstas is a worry with his technique. Still young though. Uzzie closer to retirement. Marnus needs to get back to his best but it’s been a long time since we’ve seen that.

                            • crazy second innings from the windies, all out for 27. the first 6 batsmen managed 6 runs between them. starc got the quickest 5for ever and scotty boland got a hat trick. crazy

                              • It was a crazy game. I checked the results late morning and couldn’t believe it. Clearly the pink ball was deadly for batters on that wicket.
