Who is the best hooker and/or best prospective hooker in our team?

Fair enough, But on size on the Roosters website it says Hastings is taller and heavier than Jake is, Most of the top Hookers in the NRL are alot older than Hastings (he's only 20 years of age) so he would have plenty of time to "grow" into the role. He can pass, kick and kick goal and as I stated he did a decent job off the bench last year. I think people expect far too much from the young kid,Originally posted by One Eyed Willy View Post
I can't see him being a 9 at nrl level. I think the defensive workload would be too much for him. He's not big enough.
I could see Watson turning into a 9 though. He has a more solid frame then Hastings.
I always thought Pearce would make a good 9 too

The fact that his speed is so poor for a young player shows his limitations for growth imo. He may well become a better player but I cant see how a guy that slow can really become a gun.Originally posted by Arties Pie View Post

Never said he was going to be a special player, he in my opinion will be a good first grader nothing more, On him being slow how many lightning paced Hookers are out there, I cant think of any of the top of my head as Smith isn't a speedster neither is Farrah, Friend, Ennis, Granville just to name a few. I think if we can keep him on the bench next season and work on his defence he could be a real asset in the future as a Hooker. Other than a tackle machine what does Friend have that he doesn't not much, but Hastings has the better kicking game and can kick goals.Originally posted by Elvis Rooster View Post

Garvey will have some challenges put to him before he plays first grade I think. There are few physical challenges in the u20s and he can get lazy at times.
I would like to see how he goes in NSW cup before I laude him as an NRL candidate. It will be interesting to see how Lussick is developing at Wyong as he is just as much a likely prospectThe Internet is a place for posting silly things
Try and be serious and you will look stupid

Hastings looks leaner then what Warson does. I'm not talking about height and weight. His body shape would suit dummy half ie. Bigger chest and shoulders then HastingsOriginally posted by Arties Pie View Post

I like what I have seen so far from Lussick. Having Lussick, Nickorima and Watson coming through is nice but we can't keep them all.Originally posted by Kingbilly View PostGarvey will have some challenges put to him before he plays first grade I think. Out of curiosity, who has filled that utility role better, Hastings or Watson?
For me, what Watson has done in his limited time in a struggling team is on par if not better then what Hastings did in a strong team.
I'm not a big Hastings fan but I have no doubt his leg injury is a major factor in why he isn't playing well. I think teams would be more worried with Watson coming on then they would with Hastings

Someone said Granville wasn't quick. He is very quick over 40m.Originally posted by boogie

I have seen Garvey play 20s. He looks good, having said that it's a long way from 20s to first grade. But I think he will be playing first grade in a few years time, but will it be with us?Originally posted by boogie
