I've only been in one cyclone. It hit Queensland in 1974 when we were on a family holiday to the Sunshine Coast. I was only 7. It hit overnight and it scared the crap out of me with so much wind. We (the kids) jumped on the bed with Mum and Dad until it went away. We were due to go home the next day but Brisbane was flooded! So we ended up spending a couple of nights in a Brisbane Motel. I heard since then, that the cyclone was only considered low range in terms of category levels but it was the flood of rain that came after it which did the damage. But to a 7 year old it sure didn't feel very low range.

Dunno where you are but I think it only got to 9 on the Southside. With the wind, it’s only 6.Originally posted by mightyrooster View PostMinus 5 last night. Not pleasant at all. It finally hit double figures around 1pm and is now sitting at 11 degrees. It looks like we have a few more days of similar weather to come. Can’t wait!
That wind today has ice in it!FVCK CANCER

Oh I'm Southside Tuggeranong. I only thought it got to double figures because my iPad app said so! But since the app only states Canberra, that's probably the airport meaning north side. But it was absolutely freezing last night. The heater was coming on regularly while we were in bed asleep because it dropped below the thermostat level at around 11pm. It was so cold! And yes that wind. I went for a walk with the furbaby at 3 and it was icy.Originally posted by rented tracksuit View Post

I'm in south Belco and our entire front yard was frozen when I left today. Indoors is a constant 23' but outside... eeep.Originally posted by mightyrooster View Post
