  • Who are favorite players of the past and why?

I have a few but will limit it to 2.

Hugh McGahn, without doubt may fave when growing up and always good for a chat after the games at Henson

David Smith when i first started catching a train to henson i would get lost every bloody time, seen this guy in a Roosters track suit on the same train and walking to the ground, followed him and did not realise he was actually in the bloody team, the whole Mickie Lane mystery was awesome, great goal kicker.

Must have been me and my mate we used to get off a Lewisham but noticed he would get off at Petersham, he was a great guy we used to have a chat walking to the game, we used to have a bbq with the players behind the King George stand after the games, the other teams players would hang around, they were great times for a young footy follower

John Brass. If it wasn't for being my coach in 77 i possibly wouldnt be a EASTS supporter, and second fav is Fitzy. All round nice guy, great footy player, honest, and still cuts a wave

Good choices. How good was Phillips. Probably underrated and forgotten by all but the roosters faithful. Extremely courageous and just all round dependable. It was mostly his outstanding defence that kept the 2000 GF score respectable. Pity he had to retire so young at 27.
