I don't think PVL needs to be sacked, he needs to be supported, because I think he wants to make the game better. Unfortunately the people who run the game right now are the coaches, and they work 24/7 to dismantle anything which is aimed to make the game fairer and manipulate anything they can take advantage of. Reducing scrum stoppages, and stoppages for penalties seemed like a good idea to counteract the wrestle but coaches have manipulated that with incorrect markers and flopping tackles. The Refs are also a huge reason the game is manipulated, they just are not capable of handling the pace and the pressure, this has been sacrificed in the aim to speed up the game at all costs. We have to realise that the game was not meant to be one of continuous movement, there need to be stoppages to get tjings right.

      No thank you!
Europe broke its contract with us and wouldn't send the vaccines it promised...saying they needed them more.
Can't vaccinate our people with fresh air.
We still have to wait for more Pfizers.

PV could not have done any better.

Anyone who thinks he did anything in racing without the blessing of the criminals that run the sport are kidding. Anything he did there probably wasn't his idea and you can see the way he is running the NRL he hasn't got a clue how to do anything with out a phone call telling him what to do

Yes those 1 in 2 million cases have changed everything, but only because of parasitic media sensationalism and a general lack of understanding by the public of statistics and relative risk.

He’s ruined Rugby League. There’s really no point getting excited about the game anymore because a team no longer determines it’s own fate. The result, momentum, possession and score blowout is all determined by the man in the middle and the bunker.

Our players bust their guts but just can’t compete with the number of penalties, 6 agains and sin bins dished out week after week.

Current and former coaches had way too much say in how the game was to be played - The third and at times fourth defender even was something that should never have been allowed as all it did was introduce what is a scurge on the game - the wrestling/judo/jiu-jitsu defence.

Oh we need this to slow down the play the ball as we can't stop the opposition from scoring nonsense - mmm instead of employing wrestling/juo/jiu-jitsu coaches employ a defence coach who can teach players how to tackle properly instead of this catch and hold wrestling/judo and jiu-jitsu nonsense.

Of course this defense stifles the attack and teams resorted to the hit up after hit up and maybe out the back with a few decoy runners thrown in or the attacking kick out wide for the winger or the down town last tackle high kick to the fullback - repeated time and time again and still is the way most teams play.

Teams conceding high numbers of points against is a result of not coping with the speed of the game and being trained in the type of defence required to combat this - they are accustomed to the hit up after hit wrestleathon with some judo and jiu-jitsu thrown in way of playing the game and when confronted by a team who keeps the ball in play moving it from side to side with players in support etc they can't cope with this defensively under the catch and hold style they have been trained in.

Many players to me are only able to do this catch and hold style of defence and when they are confronted with an attacking player with a bit of footwork or teams moving the ball where a different type of tackle/defence is required other than the catch and hold one they are unable to affect a different type of tackle and defence.

Now the game has quickened up this catch and hold defence style against a team that keeps the ball in play is least effective across the full game and players have to learn how to defend a different way.

This was clearly demonstrated in the Riff vs Chooks game - Riff moving the ball with players in motion and in support etc - the Chooks defence still with the catch and hold mentality of the hit ups and out the back decoy and kick style of play was not able to cope with the Riffs ball movement.

The Riff have combated the ball in play and faster game by increasing their defence line speed in meeting the opposition ball carriers before they reach the advantage line.

The set restarts is something at least to try to reduce this rubbish defence style and open the game up with much more to be done - i agree with Gould's article from 2014 in banning the third and fourth defender.

'In recent years, attacking potency has been suffocated under a wall of defenders, wrestling the life out of the game. If we could just somehow ban this ridiculous third and fourth defender coming in at the legs of the tackled player, the game would loosen up.''

Alas, the change I was searching for didn't really eventuate. Over the past few seasons, rugby league at the top level had become a game dominated by defensive techniques. The speed of the play-the-ball had become the major focus of the contest. Defenders were clearly winning that battle.

Let's spend less time with the wrestling coaches. More time with the football coaches. Let's play some football.

More to do with the mentality of coaches still stuck in the game plan of hit ups after hit ups and out the back with decoy runners and kick for the winger or down town high kick to the fullback.

The game is moving on and teams that move with the times by using the ball and having players in motion and in support etc are dominating those playing the over structured way I mentioned above and also avoiding the catch and hold wrestleathon with judo and jiu -jitsu thrown in defence.

The Chooks have to re-invent themselves going forward in attack and defence to complete against sides that have and will change the way they play as a result of the faster nature of the game.- The 2018/2019 way of playing wont cut the mustard

                      Seems to be.
Not a new thing though, but in the past, under the old system, our teams were sometimes good enough to prevail.
                      eg: 2002 2013 2018 2019
Every time we win a premiership the NRL seems to change the rules so other teams more chance against us.

It's harsh to say that we haven't moved on when we have the injury list that we currently have. We don't have to reinvent too much, we just need to reduce the amount of season ending injuries to our star players. We were missing 12 players against Penrith and were competitive until the sin binning. How did your poster boys at Penrith go when they were missing a mere 5 players in the previous two rounds? Maybe they need to reinvent themselves when they are missing some of their best players..................

Just like the NRL are trying to ruin us, they fear a man of Trent’s stature and credibility because he is influential enough to ruin them too! They fear him ‘interfering’ with their ‘match fixing’ and so go all out bullying him hoping he will be intimidated but he stands firm for justice. A real good man.

The ref and bunker have too much manipulative power to swing any game for or against almost any team just by using 6 agains and sin bins added to penalties. These tools are being abused by refs. When it was only penalties we could still win b2b premiership but add 6 agains and sin bins to that and we just can’t overcome the odds of having almost no possession and no momentum. Now the game is severely unbalanced where ref bias rules the results.
