  • When Latrell runs onto the SCG in green and red vomit.....

    What's the reaction?

I feel very conflicted on this.

He has been a real gentleman at the club. The club has invested a lot into him and he has earned his keep and repaid us in spades.

Off the field he has been exemplary, well behaved, involved in charity, giving himself and the club a good name...

But on the other hand, the way that he threw it all way rejecting the extension deal - I dunno.

?t the end of the day, I reckon I won't be booing him when he runs on the field against us, but nor do I wish him best of luck in the future.

To me he is now little more than a piece of club history in what might end up being our greatest purple patch ever.

There is no conflict. He is Souths. You boo him. Simple as that.

Latrell was a key member of a team that won two comps. So long as he doesn't bad mouth the club he'll always be a Roosters hero.

Whatever other jersey he wears you're always going to hope he doesn't do good things against us but I love what the guy did with us so I'll never be able to actually boo him.

Or you just generally boo Souffs.

Clearly nobody who supports our club wants Souffs to beat the Roosters under any circumstances.

I still find it hard to believe myself that we have lost one of the Superstars of the game.
For me it started back in 2016.
Latrell had been a sensation as a FB coming through the Roosters SG Ball, Flegg & NYC system & was earmarked to take over at FB after RTS took up the Warriors offer. I for one thought at first why are they buying Tedesco & there lies the crutch of Latrells & his familys gripe with the Chooks.
Latrell is a superstar player but so is Teddy, I would not have Latrell ahead of Tedesco for the FB position & neither did the Chooks.
From the time they signed Teddy I believe Latrell & his family, extended family & bra's took that as a insult & started to view the Roosters in a different light, some resentment towards the Chooks. I believe he was told by those I just mentioned that if Tedesco is getting 1 mil then so should you with like an attitude about it. Pay me the mil or I will explore my options. They would have not expected Nick the billionare business tycoon to pull the 800k offer they would of thought the billionaire can afford to pay me 1 mil a season & we will get it out of him.
Nick, money & ego are in another league compared to Latrell & his people so unfortunately Latrell go's. Its a bloody shame for an average supporter like me.

If you notice him at all, you’ll see the lazy grub play that you overlooked when he wore red, white and blue. Possible flashes of brilliance but mostly the former sprinkled with petulance.

I never booed latrell in RWB but in vermin colours....well that’s a separate matter. How he conducts himself for the remainder of his career determines his legacy

I see it exactly the same regarding Tedesco. Prior to his arrival I thought Latrell was gonna be our star fullback.

However, I take solace that we won two straight premierships with Tedesco at the back and know the coaches and management made the correct decision.

The other consolation is when Tuivasa-Sheck left I felt similar. How did we let him go? Would Roger swap his Dally M medal for at least one premiership? I would guess yes.

Did fans boo Fletch, Hegarty, Crocker or even Salvo when they joined the vermin? What about Wing? The story is that Latrell wanted to test the market. Apparently Manu said the same thing last year but it was all cool with the club so it must have been the way Latrell told the club that the club didn’t like. Plus the news that he was courting other clubs during GF week and other stories about his dealings from then on that the club has had enough. Somehow I believe that Mundane influenced Latrell to hold the club at ransom and Latrell was too brainwashed to remember what the club did for him in those days Post GF. Had he been honest, humble and grateful for all the club has done for him then, perhaps us fans would be more accepting. Let’s see what comes out of his mouth once he signs for them and leading up to the clash in round 3.

I hate and boo anything related to the Vermin - Latrell has just added himself to that list!!

By moving to Souths, Latrell has formalised his new nickname "GI's Shadow".

Pretty good summation of the mood of many, ROC. I think the nail has been hit on the head a few times in this thread. You boo the rabble no matter what. That is a given. Our reaction to Latrell will largely be determined by his demeanour when he meets us. I for one probably wouldn't straight out boo him, but I would have to think twice if he tries to rub our face it in somehow (e.g. kissing the rabble emblem, making gestures at us, etc). I would play it by ear and see how things unfold, but I would be pretty disappointed if he reverted to such behaviour, after everything we had done for him. That said, who knows what could happen once he starts listening to Walker, Jet and co.

                          MRR or Rabid

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

As long as he doesn't badmouth our club or Robbo, i'll wish him all the best and hope he does well for himself.

Nothing wrong with chasing a $1M per season fullback dream and retiring before 30. Nothing wrong with that at all.

And that's something he won't be able to achieve with us.

He just ain't as good as Teddy in the No.1 Jersey and he spends too much time being uninvolved to warrant any more than we offered him at this stage. I will say our offer was a really generous one - $800K a season is outstanding money to play a non-spine position, and if Mitchell had accepted that contract it's quite possible we may have lost JWH or SST in the juggle for $.

Ultimately, this is a good outcome for the Roosters.

I know he was a fullback as a junior but his growth and body type has meant he is now far better suited to centre. Pretty much the same happened with Inglis. Up here he was a great fullback but at Melbourne Bellamy knew he had better positions even though I know they had Slater too. I really dont think he will be a great fullback and neither must have Robbo which is why they bought Teddy. I think Robbo was hoping he may play 5/8th much like Inglis did for a bit but now we have Keary whose form has improved so much.

If I was him I would have taken the 800K to play centre. Not a bad gig really.
