We don't really know where things ended up, or what the relationship is like but, on the face of it, I would say it could now be untenable and there is no way back. The club was compelled to make a statement as this is very clear. On balance, I still think it did the right thing by handling it this way.
Wonder if Lattrell asked him what he thought about the controversial 6 again call..

Yeah, it kind of says bugger your tens of thousands of years of history living in Australia. If God save the queen was still our national anthem I wouldn't sing it.

Our national anthem is and always has been a crap song. And it does piss off our indigenous. I totally back them up on this and the Australia Day date, which should be changed.

Billy should be no exception if he replaces latrell.
          Big?
He's not my idea of big.
Latrell is my idea of big.

I only enjoy watching our team win games.

          Billy is no Latrell.

Let's be honest, discussing Billy Smith in the same thread as Latrell Mitchell is depressing.

I’d say the opinion of Billy Smith on here is about equivalent to that of Joey Manu when he was coming through the 20s. And you could argue he is all round a better player than Latrell today.

If Latrell doesn’t want to be here, regardless of the reason, then I’d rather we invest some time building Billy Smith’s game. He looks very powerful for his frame, with superb timing. Give him another year to add 5kg to his frame which would take him past 100kg I’d say and another 12 months to recover from the ACL and he’ll be looking as good as Manu does right now I think. With zero attitude problems and a tenfold willingness to be involved compared to Latrell.

I love watching Latrell but if he wants to throw away definite improvement and success for an extra $300k then good luck to him. With that sort of mindset I’d rather the young bloke with plenty of talent that is willing to give everything to make it a threepeat.

19 years old 99kg and 6 foot 4 and still growing, not big enough? He is only 3 kegs lighter than Latrell who has 4 fg seasons on him.

Latrell is a once in a lifetime talent but appears not to want to stay at the Roosters and may not get anywhere near his ceiling anyway.

You got me this time troll.

The $300K would mean a lot more if he was on say $300-650K or so.

Fur, I reckon that took up most of the meeting and, near the end, Robbo would have said: 'and, by the way, before I forget, there is just one other small matter that I should mention in passing'!

Some people believe supporting the Roosters
is a matter of life and death, I am very disappointed
with that attitude. I can assure you it is
much, much more important than that.

I like the look of Smith from what I've seen of him ,he's a specialist left centre with a good fend and step for that side of the field and runs good lines . He will get plenty of opportunities running outside of Keary and looks ready made for first grade.
He showed plenty of clock taking the tough hit ups against Souths from out of our own end when Sam Burgess and co really belted him.
