  • Golden Era

Is 2013 to current the most successful time in the Easts/Roosters history?
    From 2013
    2 Comps 2013, 2018
    Minor Premiers 2013, 2014, 2015, 2018
    World Club champions 2014, 2019

Premierships in 1935,1936,1937 may be considered the golden era being back to back to back.

I believe this era that I/we have been lucky enough to witness is the golden era. We are all blessed.

    Long may it continue too.

No doubt it's a golden era. Too early to say it's the Golden Era. Sure, it's not just about winning premierships, but it's mainly about that. If we win a couple more in the next few years it will be up there.

i'm not sure that anything will touch the golden 30s

34 - minor premiership, runner up
35 - minor premiership, premiership, 87-7 victory, Dave Brown 45 points in a game, 38 tries in a season
36 - minor premiership, premiership, unbeaten
37 - minor premiership, premiership, unbeaten
        38 - runner up
        40 - minor premiership, premiership
41 - minor premiership, runner up

Still, the current era is really good too. 4 minor premiership, 2 premierships, 2 World Club Championships...

Relatively speaking the current era is more impressive when you consider the level of difficulty. The 30s was an 8-9 team Sydney based competition, one of those years was an 8 round first past the post comp. Much more difficult to win a premiership or finish top of the ladder these days competing against 15 other clubs including the likes of a Brisbane and salary cap levelling rules.

If we pull it off this year, I'll die a happy man.

Hopefully we don't need another world war to hit these heights Lol.

These days the level competition & salary cap makes the 30's era a walk in the park

We had a pretty good era in the 70s besides winning back to back comps in 74/75. Runners up in 72 and we won the Amco cup a couple of times when it was a genuine knockout competition and lost in the finals in another.
We had success in the preseason comp as well when it was taken seriously in the 70s .
Won the inaugural world club match when we smashed st Helens in 76 .
No doubt we are in a golden era now and if we can go back to back will go down as a legendary team.

Probably add the 9's win to the list of silverware during the current golden era
