My concern is we will pay Lats over a million a year to keep him, but he is just a centre.
We have to bite the bullet and play Verris at hooker. We have to play a proper dummy half. Put Rads at 14.
Aubs is a 2nd rower / utility player, not a starting centre. Surely we have a centre in our squad?

I agree with most of what you are saying. I don't like it when you weaken a strength, by moving a great player out of position into another. By the end of the game several of our boys were playing out of position. I would much rather play all our strengths in their first choice position and bring in a rookie/reserve grader, who is a specialist to fill the gap left by injuries or resting players.

Where I will have to respectfully disagree with you is on Latrell's worth. I would be willing to give him a million to play centre. He is that good. Based on last night however I won't give him half of that to play 5/8.

Pearces attitude just shows the chasm in personality between him and someone like Cronk or Keary. Cooper or Luke would most certainly celebrate a win with their new clubs but wouldn’t be rubbing it in the face of the old club and fans. This is where Pearce lacks humility and most likely why he’s always getting into issues in his private life which is very different to Luke, Cooper and his old man Wayne P. There’s nothing wrong with what Mitch did during the game but it just shows that the bigger men play for our club.

Glad the OP started this thread to discuss the antics of certain knoughts players last night. I had to check the NRL draw to make sure it was round 11 and not a finals game given the carry on by the knoughts after beating an out of sorts Roosters with the help of scummins. These comments also apply to the way the groncos carried on last week - it looked to me like they were doing a lap of honour amongst the general over the top hubris.

Unsurprisingly, teams are noticeably lifting their intensity when they play the Roosters and it appears that the Roosters are either surprised by this, or becoming cumulatively drained by it as each week passes. Either way, and with the current injury toll, I don't see them staying in the top four for long.

Well said. Humility has never been one of his strengths. And he was never going to learn it from a big head like Joey either. That kissing of the jersey was way over the top and carried on to the nth degree. And as usual it will come back to haunt him, just like his taunting of Thurston did.

I agree too with the last paragraph. If a player can get you the results to win comps, what does it matter if they are a half, a winger or even a player off the bench? This belief that wingers should not be paid more than a certain amount or that only fullbacks should get $1m etc etc etc, is so narrow minded. A winger like Ado Carr or Radrada should be able to get $1m if they are able to score at will AND for that matter if Mitchell can't be accommodated at 5/8, then pay him a $1m to be left centre cause he will still win you games...


With that said, I think Mitchell at 5/8 is a work in progress. Just because he's had a couple of goes at this level and has been shaky, then I can guarantee that Robbo has not signed off on Lats not having another go. He is young and still can learn from Luke and Cooper and it may take another season or less, but he has the ability.

Agree with your post Louis and those of others that share a similar theme in this thread. Cronk used the word "humility" a couple of times during his retirement announcement and I know how I prefer the players that play for the club I've supported since childhood, and it isn't teflon's way.

in the fullness of time ie post soo, we will find we have a full fit roster and an embaressmenbt of riches? until then we do need to conduct some rearranging of the team. we do need a real hooker at 9 the lack of a hookers skills are killing our team, in fact i think the bad pass to keary that got him flattened last night came from a non jooker?latrell you are a magnificent centre but a sub standard half, go back to your strengths, you havnt had a good game since you astarted at 6?we do need to play cronk as much as we can before he retires

I disagree. They play for the Knights & they are very passionate about it. Good on them.

Pearce is playing great footy but he has always been able to when things go his way - traditionally he comes apart when the going gets tough and he tries too hard. That will come as the year goes on

Injuries are always the biggest x-factor.

They're totally out of our control so we just have to hope for the best.

They've really taken a toll on us; especially the in game injuries.

The good news is that the amazing 8 game winning streak has put us in a tremendous position to absorb this slump.

And when Origin ends our draw gets softer and IF we can then get our full team on the paddock I'd much rather be us than the Broncos or Knights.

Our best still laps them.

Even Souffs are largely where they are because all their key players haven't missed a minute. Plus a soft draw.

Maybe their luck holds. Or maybe their injury problems occur when it matters in September.

Again, I'd rather be us at full strength. Our major concern atm is Keary's concussion issues.

I hope he sits on the sidelines for a month.

To be fair, I don’t think there is a more passionate fan base than the knights, it’s something he never got close to bar the odd Anzac Day game for us, but at marathon it is next level and the adoration seems to be second to none, must be pretty easy to fall in love with the whole situation.
