    Yeah WTF is with that?

Edit: 'For the welfare of Keary moving forward, the Roosters and New South Wales Blues medical staff made the decision to rule him out of contention for State Of Origin 1.'

IMO this says something about the class/quality of us as an institution. Gone are the days of cheering players back on after concussion and revved up players being seen as tough for playing on...etc. There's a line between being tough and being stupid. I think we've got it right.

Bingo. I love Keary (and quite honestly we need him in order to have a chance of winning this year) but IMO his welfare need to come first. If he has to sit out longer (or retire) then I back him 100% as a fan.

I'm a lawyer and I'm broke compared to most easts fans. I keep putting it out there... if Nick or Mark read this forum... happy to move to the eastern suburbs if you can find a job for a mediocre lawyer that pays enough.

Where are all the ex players stumbling around with concussion related issues? It's a collision sport, if the doctor tells him he risks permanent injury by getting another concussion then he should give the game away, if not he plays on.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you an idiot.

Apparently on 100% Footy last night they gave an update on Keary, he will see an independent specialist this week to determine the next step, looks like the Roosters plan to sit him for 4-6 weeks and reassess from there, while not uncommon he was still displaying concussion symptoms yesterday headaches etc.

Geoff Toovey only started getting concussion related issues after the Knights kicked him in the head during every tackle he made in the 1997 Grand Final.

Well actually some of us are trained in dealing with concussion. Your opinion is full of holes. Toovey etc etc all played at a different time when concussion was not treated correctly. You don't see how having that rest will help because you are ignorant of the facts. there is a significant chance that Keary has no permanent damage mainly because of the attitude of concussion now days. It is not some mythical thing, look at all the old players that are busted through other parts of their bodies. The big difference is there is less known about the brain than other parts of the body although it is improving

Even now you can see a simple tap on the head sends him half way to Disneyland. Using him as the poster boy for "players should be able to make their own choices" is like using Basil Fawlty as a British Tourism Ambassador.

He should definitely wear headgear from now on...like JT did.

Also the NRL should introduce an offence called "excessive force".

He who smashed Keary would've been guilty.

If there wasn't excessive force I wouldn't be watching.

For any South Park fan the Sarcastaball episode seems to be coming true!

I have no doubt that the Chooks will do whatever is best for Luke regarding his concussion issues - just like they did for Ryan Matterson last year when he didn't play for a few months due to ongoing issues.

Looking at the vision of the Keary tackle I reckon that Siafiti? headslammed him into the ground using excessive force, which he could have avoided. But that could just be me with my RW&B coloured glasses on.
Supporting the RW&B, through good times and bad times.

But Saifiti's initials aren't JWH and Lukes last name isn't Ponger. So the tackle is fine..

Luke's health is of course the primary concern. That being said, when he does come back we're all going to be nervous as hell knowing our Premiership chances likely hinge on one more concussion.

We've copped a hell of a lot of injury adversity already this year and you can already sense that, cumulatively, it's reaching the stage of breaking point.

Furthermore I can totally see the Burgii looking to intentionally concuss Luke so I'd sit him for that rnd 25 clash. Souffs are THAT filthy and low a club.

Long term, the sooner Keary becomes a controlling halfback and thus limiting his likelihood of heavy collisions the better.

What's worse is that the Dragons don't give a shit.

Graham has been concussed as clear as day on a dew occasions and yet has either come back on or not even gone for a HIA at all.

They seemingly have little concern for player welfare at St George.

I am willing to bet the next time it happens the Roosters players will start brawl. An actual brawl with players sent to the bin for throwing punches. Roosters need to make it clear to the NRL that other teams are attempting to eliminate them as a premiership threat by intentionally injuring their stars as was the case with Cronk last year.
