  • "Angus Crichton rubbishes Roosters backflip rumour" FoxSports

    Angus Crichton
NSW Blues forward Angus Crichton has rubbished rumours he is considering backflipping on a deal to join the Roosters next year.

Crichton signed a three-year contract to join the Bondi club from 2019 in pre-season, committing his 2018 campaign to South Sydney.

But now the Rabbitohs are looking like a genuine NRL premiership threat and Crichton’s last season in the cardinal and myrtle could culminate in a maiden grand final.

The success of the Bunnies has prompted reports this week Crichton is considering tossing his Roosters deal in the bin and re-signing with South Sydney in the hope of winning a title in the coming seasons.

But the Origin rookie was blunt when asked about the speculation on Wednesday.
“I’ll pour cold water on that,” he told foxsports.com.au.

Crichton reaffirmed his commitment to honour the three-year contract with the Chooks from next season.

He was previously in the Roosters system when he played junior football for Bondi United and with the SG Ball side.

It was never in doubt. Some sad Souffs fan and their wishful thinking thought their season success will keep him at their club lol... WRONG!

      Exactly.
Good to know where these "proffesional" journalists get their "stories" from.

Dipshit Rothfield fueled the fire, what a goose. He said on NRL 360 he can confirm the rumours are correct, when Ikin asked him if he spoke to Chrichton, he said no but because Souffs are playing well he has second thought, gutter journo

More great news. I don’t suppose Rothfield will admit he got it wrong.

Dont be too hard on Buzz...hes actually been a rare media ally for us these past few seasons.

Technically he could have been playing word games stating its true that there were rumours...and there was...all be they lacking substance.

Journos goal is always for the "scoop" and now the print journos are getting on screen time, egos and competition are magnified.

The Roosters are just showing their class in not confirming the Crighton signing. They will not parade him around like Souths did with Wing whilst he was was still playing for the Roosters.

Gussy was interviewed by Danny Weildler Tuesday night on 9 news sport and said then that he had no intention of backing out of his contract with the Roosters. He was quite adamant and also seemed a bit annoyed about the rumour. He answered the questions about it with sharp “yes and no” responses. I had the impression he was offended that his word was in question.
