Hear hear. I find it staggering that we’’re in this position again after the debacle of 2016. It’s such a basic facet of the game.

I know Lattrell and SST are being trained up for it but it really shouldn’t come to that. Specialist goal kicker that plays 80 minutes should just be an automatic part of the squad.

Bound to cost us some games just like it did in 2016.

It will probably be Latrell as he will all game and SST back up or sharing the duties .SST is the better kicker though

I reckon we should have a few and it should be part of basic halves training. Every other team seems to be able to rely on their halves, hooker and a workhorse back rower/centre to do it. IMO Keary, Cronk, Friend and Latrell should be our target. That way we’re covered for injuries...etc.

Not saying they all need Maloney/Smith/JT kinda accuracy. But like... they should all be able to nail ~70% of kicks from out wide, and 99.99% from better angles. It’s embarrassing seeing some of our conversion ‘attempts’... sometimes I swear you could pull in a drunk subbies player from the stands and he’d be able to nail 1/2 the ones we miss, or at very least get close!
