My understanding is that Mam did not have a license and that this in itself shoulda raised a red flag (possibly multiple red flags). We dunno why his license was suspended but it shows that he has a record of road offences & a lack of remorse (possibly because a heap of speeding offences took peanuts outta his salary, but it coulda been for something like DUI).
Should a player HAVE to almost kill a little girl in order for the NRL to care? Or. Should they have intervened earlier on?
To me if they'd cared earlier on then a proper punishment would be easier to justify as the reasoning would include a reference to previous punishments / promises. As it is, I can see why they're saying 'look it's tragic somebody got hurt but this will be a very long suspension for a guy who the courts have not convicted, and chose to only charge with the most minor offence... so... losing control of an automobile... 9 weeks is a lot for losing control of your car... no charges were laid for GBH, drug driving, driving without a license or reckless driving... so... our hands are kinda tied'.Last edited by ism22; 01-15-2025, 01:01 PM.

"To the NRL, the Brisbane Broncos, the fans and my family, I'm sorry. I promise to work on being a better person and representative of the club and the game that I love."
No mention of the victims. No surprise from this brain-dead fool.

Also based on Facebook rants, I dunno if Brisbane fans are all that happy with his reported 9 week suspension. I hear quite a few of them calling for him to be sacked and deregistered. I'm sorta happy they've gotta keep him on their books

Rothchild is onto this on FB and everyone is *issed.
There should be full disclosure of all payments made by Monkeyman to ensure that it is him paying not the Broncos. I have to say I had a higher regard for Maguire and find it hard to swallow his acceptance of this unadulterated carpet job.

Hope that money goes to the kid who was injured in the crash, to help pay for their schooling and uni fees. The least they could do given the family involved doesn't seem to be seeking civil action.

The broncos have timed this well like it was mentioned in the media
wait to after Boxing Day between Xmas and new years when no one is working - media on leave or thinking about rugby league to accept the punishment and provide their own
9 weeks is also an odd number - again picked 1 extra week then Spencer’s 8 week suspension to make it look like they have gone harder
ffs one week for a drugged and alcohol fuelled unlicensed re offender for nearly killing innocent people
should be banned for the season

The NRL then let the Broncos sign Hunt at a massive discount to fill the spot.
How they thought 9 weeks would pass the pub test is anyone's guess, maybe it was the Caxston???
