    Spot on.

I could be wrong - but you would have to look hard to find a worse semi final campaign than our's this year. - For a club that has/had a very talented roster.

I know, no Walker and Smith blah blah. But to not be competitive against the 2 top teams, is a huge embarrassment. Did even put the gloves up.

A lot of tackling practise over the summer for the chooks.

Youth for me has always been the backbone of building a successful club. While in the past we have gone and bought big names I.e Cronk, SBW, they’ve been more the final piece in the puzzle.

Signing a back when we have good depth and don’t know how good Toia and Mark will be, or backrowers when we need to see how good Steep and Wong and co can be is going to be detrimental to the club long term. While I do highly rate Staggs, let’s see how our centres compare for next yearand if they don’t hold up I’d prefer Cobbo, though I don’t think he’d leave Brisbane. Someone I really don’t want to see pull on the RWB is RCG.

The two players I would target that wouldn’t impact negatively any young players would be Jayden Brailey if we’re looking for a short term solution at hooker. Good service, good defender, injury prone. My ideal signing would be Wishart to be our next long term hooker. Ik some on here as well as Flanagan at the Dargons view him as a possible half prospect as that’s where he played majority this year, but for me his best position is hooker.

With all that said about youth, should Leo Thompson become available I would absolutely have him any day of the week
I agree + tyreece tait and foley there are plenty of under 20s players that will fill positions that we don’t want to loose! I’m worried we may loose a Vaa bro over time or one of Elliot or Rodwell not being able to crack the 17 soon

there is little bar depth players not signed yet for 25
sst and Issac lui are off contract - not sure if there would be a cheap end to their career back with us? Other then that tepai moeroa, or centres Marion Seve and enari tuala could still spots and backup!

waiting for someone to want to get out early! Still view Ben hunt as a perfect fit being able to play 7 and 9, and could end up at 6 with walker for a season or two, doesn’t seem rosy at dragons

I'd target more of our recruitment thoughts for 2026 onwards. Mower and Ponga would do me lol
I'd also be finding someone for the halves with Walker. I don't believe Sandon Smith will ever reach any great heights and I am well and truly sick of having halves that cannot kick us out of trouble or kick high enough for the chasing players to get on top of the opposition's back three to keep them pinned on their line
It’s hard to tell no surprise at all if we slip back but we were well ahead of teams this year and they won’t be getting much better! The 5 players we are loosing none of them were probably in our top 10 players this year! Jwh wasn’t on the field, Keary has been done for a while and can’t defend! Manu was quite, suaali was poor until the last month and sitili was average and not in rhe 17 for a while
it may be abit of a building year but we won’t be down long and maybe 1-2 signings will change it quick

Taking injuries (walker, smith) out of the equation, we need...........

    - Experience
    - A straight running intimidator in the front row
    - At least one half decent centre
    - A real hooker

    I'd go:

    1. RCG
    2. Staggs
    3. Verrills

Those 3, plus Townsend, add a bit of experience without breaking the bank.

Then, after another couple years, bring Manu back and get The Pong.

Big body big kicking 5/8 (Burton) apparently Jake Elliot is this but still raw

A defensive demon of a hooker (Reece Robson)

And a no frills hard working toiler of a Backrower

Defense has been our problem & not our attack, we haven’t been the same with out Friend & Cordner
