We will have another end of season review and Robbo and the coaching staff need to be honest and address the chasm between us and the top 2 teams.
Last year the review saw Robbo admitting he made some mistakes and undertook to rejig our attack a bit to yield more points. Tick.
We need a harder edge and a tougher resilient mindset when the cubby house falls down. Have to build that through a varied system of training and preparation. Plan A hasn't quite worked.

2026 I'm just going to assume Manu is back for that season so ideally we'd be looking for a winger to replace Tupou, a centre, a genuinely good half, a prop and a genuine hooker.
Winger you'd have to be considering Mulitalo, Addo-Carr (If he doesn't go early) and Cobbo.
Centre you'd have to be considering Staggs, Xerri and Laybutt
For a half there aren't a lot of options that I think would fit our club apart from the older guys such as Hunt, DCE etc but I'd think they'd all be ready for retirement or Super League at the end of 2025.
For prop there aren't a heap of great options there either but Josh King is available, he seems like he'd' fit in well with us and I really rate him.
At hooker I'd go hard for Reece Robson, just a really hard working hooker that does everything well.
2026 I'd hope for something like:
1. Manu 2. Mulitalo 3. Staggs 4. Toia 5. Young 6. S. Smith (Not ideal) 7. Walker 8. King 9. Robson 10. Collins 11. Crichton 12. Radley 13. Whyte
14. Watson 15. Leniu 16. May 17. Wong
---
I think that team would win a comp but I could be wrong, I am just armchair quarterbacking after all.

whats the situation with the other 2 May brothers?
The one in the UK - apparently has cleaned up his act and is mates with Mitch Pearce - and from memory he is a half
Other one has the off field issues - is he allowed to play or still legal issues pending? he was a centre/winger
so just position wise and from a realistic point of view - they are affordable, fit required positions and obviously a link to the club
Just unaware if either are available

It's slim pickings out there atm, next year is a rebuild for sure

We need centres that run straight through the line. Billy Smith is one of those, he just needs to stay fit.
Haven't seen much of Toia but from what I've read he is a powerful runner.
Mark N could end up being a big signing. Could potentially cover wing, centre and fullback.
also, don’t want him back for half a season, I think that’s a selfish play, not sure what message that sends to whoever starts the season at centre.

Absolutely nothing wrong with our backline. A shambles that we can't win a comp with them. Toops is one of the most consistent players in the history of the sport, let alone Roosters. Mark N looks good. Manu will be back. Teddy is one of the best players in the comp and is better than Edwards in every facet of the game yet he's won 4 and we've won nothing in 6 years.
Halves need to put up or shut up. I love Sam but he needs to dial in and realise that winning is the currency that we deal with in the East. Highlights are great, he needs to add substance if he is to earn that 1.2+. I think he has it in him to do that. You won't find a more accomplished 21-22yo half going around.
We need a big body 6. Sandon is not that. Need someone to compensate Walker's lack of size both physically and with the boot.
Forward pack should be built around robotic no nonsense players who keep their heads and dont make errors. I love May, he would get into any side in the comp. He adds some flair but doesn't make errors. Our young middles look good.
Collins is an awesome player but looked absolutely shot about 1/3 of the way into the comp.
The team is there. We need a big number 6 and perhaps another lock. Watson is the perfect 14.
Hopefully we don't need another coach but the systemic issues we've seen in the last half decade appear to replicate themselves every single season in the same scenarios.
