We must sign Ben Hunt on a 2 year deal, the only downside is his age as 1 month into the 2025 season he'll turn 35 and 2026 he'll be 36 which is very old for a halfback in the NRL, nonetheless Hunt seems relatively injury free and age doesn't seem to be holding him back as he's played for nation and state this year.

Tedesco, Walker, Hunt and Smith is a spine that would make us heavy favourites to win the comp. Unfortunately I think Ben will join the Cowboys or the Titans who both could do with him.

Had a go at Gagai and gone quiet since then. Something would be in the works for a few positions but thinking for 26.....25 is going to be a write off

I agree on Hunt - i think no doubt we will have a crack due to the Walker / Smith situation. When they are back and firing, he either slots into 6 or 14 (with Watson 13).

Its a simple thing - he is better than anyone else we will have in those positions, and maybe get him slightly unders for a year with the Dragons wanting him out. He isnt Cronk, but like the Cronk / Pearce situation, he is an improvement on Sandon / townsend and at Origin you could make the case he is a better No 9 than B.Smith

also agree i dont understand how we didnt go for Lomax - although prior to this year he was not playing well - from memory he spent some time in reserve grade, and i suspect we have one of the Broncos centres on our radar

im hoping we have a red hot crack at him for 1-2 seasons
    fills the senior leadership void
fill in for walker and b smith while out and Potentially goes into 6 once walker and smith back for the season

Mulitalo exploring his worth. For me the 2/3 winger in the game, behind To’o and maybe Coates/Lomax. Only 24, would be a perfect replacement for Tupou in 2026. Depends on what we could get him for, but anything up to 700 would be great

Agree 100%. Flanno has no idea how to manage him. Good time to strike as they may contribute to his salary.

    They can have Townsend.

I doubt they would have been the only club doing that.
My junior team Burwood United who were the premiers had players coming from Grandville, Drummoyne & Leichhardt because they wanted to play for the best team.
You make it sound so casual. Let's just ignore the systematic illegal forging of documents to sure up a roster capable of winning 11 in a row.

So the 11 straight premierships by a financial powerhouse of St George leagues club.
There was too much money involving many parties of interest until they were halted by the unlimited tackle. The poker machine era. St George won its 1st of 11 in ‘56 the introduction of poker machines. Then it was Souffs era of poker machines briefly at the club but its financial arm of Souths juniors - who had a run for 8years until the crime into clubs investigation in 74.

The Roosters a financial powerhouse but thru other means not benefitting the masses as in St George’s day. For young fans St George’s club the Taj Mahal nickname given was Vegas like in Kograh!
So after winning back to back rules changes implemented including back to 1 ref wherein the NRL isn’t involved with the clubs business interests to further profit - explains a further reason for the anti roosters media coverage.

Pedriff admirable 4 wins which the NRL will be happy it continues due to the cultural change in the game and it’s fan base and this market historically never been part of the game. The large catchment area is not only Pedriff catchment but it’s the NRLs

BullScum - the reason Gould there is to repeat what was done at Penriff and likely paid by both organisations - the club and NRL The Bullscum drawing from the same pool a similar pool close by or same catchment as it’s documented /considered geographically the same as PedRiff.

I won’t be surprised at all to see in the next 24 to 48 hours chooks making the hunt signing
they may not but with chooks a greater chance of a premiership then the qld sides and no walker and b smith for half a year and plenty of cash if be very surprised if we don’t have a crack

I wasn’t interested in hunt but given that smith and walkers injuries I think it’s a smart signing… have him play with sandon in the halves until Walker is back then maybe have him share the hooker role with smith and slide Watson into lock? Brandon can come off the bench for more of an impact role which I think suits him while hunt is the starting 9

I find that hard to believe.
That was the NSWRL days and clubs were mostly only fined for salary cap breaches back then - It wasn't until the NRL was formed that tougher sanctions were imposed on clubs breaching the salary cap. - Dogs and Storm for instance.

Might not happen but wouldn't be shocked if he's headed East.
