  • Just to underscore the corruption and double standards.

Sean Johnson makes an attempt at a 2 point field goal to draw with Manly. Long after he's kicked it, a Manly player coming through has no alternative but to run into Johnson's elevated leg and bodies fall to the ground. Johnson rolls around clutching his shin in agony so the ref sends it to the bunker for a review who, of course, declares it a penalty for the Warriors right in front (ie: where the ball landed after the failed attempt).

Johnson converts the penalty with the same leg he pretended he couldn't walk on just seconds earlier.

The match now goes into extra time.

Absolute garbage double standards by NRL officials. Same basic set of circumstances as was the case for Easts on Thursday night - the only difference being that Collins was 100% irrefutably, undeniably hurt in a head shot and blood was drawn, but somehow our ref completely ignored it.

Christ this game shits me to tears at times.

Apologies in advance if this is in the wrong thread/section, I was too angry to figure out where I was typing.

1985: 1 try vs Parramatta, 1 try vs Manly, 1 try vs Wests, 2 tries vs Souffs
1986: 2 tries vs Illawarra, 1 try vs Balmain, 2 tries vs Norths.

By the way, I don't give a stuff who wins the game. Just for once I'd like to see some consistent refereeing and application of the rules.

Johnson is running around like a 3yo.

Actually that reminds me of the incident on Thursday where Kez kicked and a player attacked his leg but no dive so no penalty. I think the commentator said it could have ended up like Ilias from Souffs.

I'm starting to get on board with those calling on Easts to start milking penalties instead of meekly surrendering to the garbage decisions the refs come up with to cheat us.

Watching the Eels vs Cowboys game and F$&k I can’t stand Clint Gutherson and his milking Eels team mates.

Laying down everytime to get a Penalty, whining at the ref at every moment they get. Clearly Brad Arthur coaches them to lay down. Absolute disgrace of a team

Great example of inconsistency depending on which team is involved? Would the bunker have ruled a penalty for us. I can't say with any confidence that they would've.

                All good mate.

It just confirms what we all know already.

The Bunker was brought in to manipulate game results for the NRL.

Honestly, if it means you win, I'd do it.

I hate the way the game is heading in milking penalties.
If it was a Manly player taking the kick it be play on and I'm 110% positive if it was East instead of Manly defending they would be happy to blow the whistle as well.
Some teams seem to get leg up after leg up where others they try everything to hold them back.

I can't stand Parramatta, they have made it an art form convincing the refs to blow the whistle, every second or third tackle they are waving their arms about trying to get the ref to see something that isn't there.

The only consistency with the current ref's/bunker is that they are all terrible and that their interpretation on the rules of the game are miles apart. I don't need, expect or want perfection but I would like some consistency.

He'll also be laying around our play the ball area and the ref will let it go.

100% and not because it’s how we want to win but because every other team would do it to us.

We need to keep up with how the game is played now.
Like it it not, it’s part of the game now and we are being left behind.

Another dumb idea from the coach. Robbo has been on this crusade of not staying down for a while now. Why would we not do everything we can to try and get an advantage?
The Manu try was taken off us when Edwards fell over like a bus had hit him. Not the same result for the Penrith try, Kerry didn't fall over because we are coached to not go down.
Not sure why Robbo feels the need to change the world.

That rule has become utterly farcical. It was originally brought in because Fulton was coaching his players to dive at the legs of kickers. It was, genuinely, a dangerous act. But as the sands of time have poured into the putrid hourglass that is the NRL, the rule is now "Don't go anywhere near the kicker." That decision yesterday was diabolical.

Same with competing for kicks. All this crap about can't touch the kicker while he's in the air. That is NOT what the original rule was brought in for!

Why do we even bother watching? I'm honestly starting to think I must have a mental illness for putting myself through this nonsense.
