Spender's father was a federal Liberal MP as well.

Noting that Wentworth is the most wealthy electorate in Australia as well.

Now building a mansion in the Southern Highlands in another rich electorate of Whitlam, formerly Throsby, as we all know.

Come on Sally this is a desperate post trying to discredit PC. I’m sure you are aware that there are parts of that electorate that were once known as slums. Paddo has let it be known he grew up in that area. Now seeing he is retired himself this would mean Paddo grew up in this area when it was an undesirable area if not a slum. Horrie Hastings also grew up in this area and is of a similar age and has mentioned how the area had changed.

The ALP abandoned the Socialist platform in the 60s (the Socialist objective universally is the State ownership of the means of Production, Distribution and Exchange as an alternative to private control) but Lenin never saw it as a "Socialist Party " anyway. It is essentially a conservative outfit with the contemporary aim of change at the margins and big changes where possible to the benefit of the hoi polloi.
