Keary had a metal jaw inserted into his face after a collision at pre-season training with a return date of their Round One clash with Wests Tigers on March 10 the goal.

Since the incident, the five-eighth has spent limited time on the training paddock.

Yet to take part in any contact work, Keary has been experiencing headaches and underwent scans on Monday to ensure the plate on his jaw had set in place. “There’s been a little bit, but it’s nothing too concerning, I’ve been alright,” Keary told NRL.com.

“I’ve done a little bit of training but not too much, no. It’s a slow thing and I’m aiming to get back into it over the next couple of weeks.

“… The recovery is probably a bit slower than what we thought but it’s nothing too serious.”

New Zealand international Frank-Paul Nuuausala has been linked with a return to the Sydney Roosters following his release by English Super League giants Wigan Warriors.

The 31-year-old still had two seasons to run on his Wigan deal but was granted an early exit on compassionate grounds on Wednesday, as first reported by the BBC.

"Not many people can say they've played for Wigan, and I'm proud to have done so," Nuuausala said in a statement.

"I've enjoyed my time at Wigan. I don't think I reached my full potential whilst being here but I leave with fond memories of winning the Grand Final and the World Club Challenge.

The Roosters are yet to confirm speculation Nuuausala is set to rejoin them for the 2018 NRL campaign.

He played 153 games for the Chooks from 2007-2014 before joining the Raiders.

The former Roosters and Canberra enforcer made 47 appearances for Wigan after joining them in June, 2016 from the Raiders.

Nuuausala’s family did not rejoin him in England for the start of the Super League season, leaving Wigan little choice other than to set him free.

"… We agreed that it would be best for both parties to allow him to be released from the remainder of his contract with Wigan in order for him to return home,” Warriors executive director Kris Radlinski said.
